The UK Ministry of International Trade and the UK-ASEAN Business Council Co-Organizes UK-ASEAN Business Forum 2022

PHNOM PENH:​ The Minister of Commerce, Pan Sosak has delivered a keynote address at the UK-ASEAN Business Forum 2022, co-organized by the British Ministry of International Trade and the UK-ASEAN Business Council (UK-ASEAN Business Council - UK-ABC) on 24 February 2022 at the Ministry of Commerce via video link.

The Minister has highlighted the Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs) that Cambodia proposed for 2022 under the ASEAN Chairmanship of Cambodia and the importance of British support to Cambodia to achieve economic priorities for 2022 and potential areas for ASEAN-UK cooperation, including digital trade, tackling climate change and sustainable infrastructure on the road to a sustainable, environmentally and resilient ASEAN community.

At the same time, the Minister has spoken about the importance of the private sector in economic recovery for Cambodia as well as for the ASEAN region, especially the strengthening of global supply and global production through strengthening trade facilitation and e-commerce.

Pan Sosak has also highlighted the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia to control and prevent the spread of Covid-19, especially the vaccination campaign for all Cambodians and foreigners, which is an important factor for Socio-economic rehabilitation along with efforts to improve the investment and business environment in Cambodia.
